Wood Mosaic: The process involves cutting hundreds of pieces of maple and oak veneer wood, hand painting with an oil paint stain and/or acrylic paint, then reassembling them,very much like a puzzle.  Finished with a gray colored grout and three coats of satin finish varnish.
